A Metro Blue Line train collided into a car turning onto the tracks in Los Angeles at about 10:50 a.m., leaving the driver with only minor injuries, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and news reports.

"This could've had a tragic income," an LAPD-affiliated Twitter post reads. "Fortunately the driver survived with minor injuries, but this should serve as a good reminder to all of us -- pay attention near train tracks, and always obey all traffic signals and devices."

The Metro train appeared to be traveling at full speed before slamming into the dark-colored sedan.
